Hi, I'm Natty! I'm a photographer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana but I love to travel to wherever you want to go.
Hey there gang!
Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I just wanted to pop on here and update you guys on what an indoor wedding weekend might look like. In Louisiana you know we always have a chance of rain. It’s absolutely unavoidable. So of course this would effect your wedding day in all the wrong ways. Here are some tips that I tell my brides who are trying to go with the flow and not be a bridezilla if the chances are not in their favor.
Let your girls and bridal party make you happy! This is 1st and foremost. The bride always sets the tone for what the day brings so if your mom and girls see you stressed out and worried then they will tend to go in that direction. Always lead by example and try to put that smile on your face and let them try to do the same. At the end of the day you will be a MRS and you will have your HUSBAND and you will have a night full of the best memories if you let it. So try to take things as they come and know that things in life are not always perfect and let this be a great reminder of such.
Schedule that first look on your rainy wedding day. This will 100% make you more happy and joyful. Seeing your soon to be hubs is what will bring you the most joy when things might not be going great. Here Claire and Riley were able to have un-interrupted time with one another while their bridal party hung out and had drinks. This made their time together memorable, unrushed and caused them both to be at ease no matter if the rain was pouring down around them.
You also get amazing fun pictures BEFORE the ceremony if you decide to do a first look on your wedding day so that is always what I opt for if we are stuck inside with some time to kill. It also doesn’t hurt that we had a gorgeous venue to use at our desire for portraits. Thank you Old Governors Mansion for making our efforts easy peasy.
And last but not least is head outside when the clouds do part. The rain typically doesn’t last forever so when it slacks off go ahead and make some wedding day photo memories to capture you guys at your beautiful venue. It’s worth getting that wedding dress cleaned again 🙂
